College President awarded for poster presentation at international congress

ACHI President Terry Hannan was recently awarded a prize for his poster presentation at the recent 29th World Congress of Internal Medicine, held in Buenos Aires.

Terry's presentation, Weekly multidisciplinary case review (WMCR) based on a web page clinical summary (WPCS) as a tool to improve health team communication, discussed the use of a web-based clinical patient summary in an interdisciplinary inpatient environment. Benefits of the web-based clinical summary include facilitation of discharge planning, with a reduction in length of stay from 13.8 days in July 2007 to 9.8 days in January 2008.
